Sounds from Spain was present at LAMC 2023 in New York from July 11 to 15, 2023.
LAMC – Latin Alternative Music Conference 2023
In an overwhelming sample of the growth of the Spanish-language music industry in the U.S., thousands of music lovers, artists, content creators, industry executives, managers, agents, media, and a new generation of the Latin music industry converged on New York City between the days of July 11 and July 15, 2023 to celebrate the 24th anniversary of the Latin Alternative Music Conference – LAMC.
The daytime activities at the InterContinental New York Times Square Hotel provided an opportunity to network and attend roundtable discussions with representatives of the following companies and organizations TikTok, Meta, Spotify, Amazon Music, YouTube, Billboard, The Orchard, Rolling Stone, KEXP, Seitrack, Loud And Live, Live Nation, Magnus, CAA, WK, Rimas, BMI, Sony, Universal, Warner, Rancho Humilde, Saban Music Latin, Altafonte, City National Bank, Vibras Lab and many more.
Once again, LAMC extended the conference to schedule a special day of off-site events with master classes, panel discussions and presentations at Spotify and Meta’ s New York offices.
Summary of ICEX’s participation with Sounds from Spain
Most of the Spanish participants at the conference came from ICEX and Sounds from Spain. In total, 29 delegates represented the 10 Spanish companies:
Sounds from Spain activity at LAMC
Sounds from Spain booth at the conference: a total of 14 exhibitors had a booth at the conference. The Sounds from Spain booth had a total of 9 m² and a prominent location in the central part of the hall.
Sounds from Spain Showcase: the four Sounds from Spain bands performed at DROM, located in the East Village. The Spanish night took place on July 12 at 8:00 pm.
Press room: the press room is undoubtedly one of the key elements of LAMC. The accredited media outlets were based in the United States and target Latino audiences in the United States. Each of the Sounds from Spain bands had a two-hour media agenda coordinated by a specialized PR.
In addition to the specific Sounds from Spain activities, we highlight the other two generic LAMC activities:
Conferences: LAMC’s conference program is possibly the most important asset of the conference because of the level of the speakers, the content of the talks and, above all, because it is an ideal opportunity to interact with the attendees. The 45 speakers, personally invited by the director of LAMC, are representatives of the most relevant companies for the Spanish-language music scene in the United States. The complete LAMC 2023 conference program is available here.
Offsite sessions: Meta and Spotify: two of the most interesting activities that take place during LAMC are the offsite sessions at Meta and Spotify’s New York headquarters. In addition to being two unique opportunities to network with other delegates, workshops were given on the latest trends and applications within Instagram, Facebook and Spotify with a special focus on music.
The concert will feature performances from four artists including: Elane, Izaro, Maikel Delacalle and Maruja Limón on July 10th at DROM
Spanish companies have the opportunity to register for free on the LAMC website and interact with the network of international music professionals that the festival fosters.
Barry B, Ginebras, Israel B and La La Love You are the groups selected to represent Spanish music in Bogota.
