Anni B Sweet & Los Estanques, Alberto & García, Karavana and Kora in Mexico with Sounds from Spain

A Spanish delegation will participate in the professional meeting and showcase organized by Sounds from Spain in Mexico between November 20-22

The public-private platform for the internationalization of Spanish music, Sounds From Spain, formed by public institutions: ICEX España Exportación e Inversiones, the Instituto Nacional de las Artes Escénicas y de la Música-INAEM, and private institutions: Artistas, Intérpretes y Ejecutantes-AIE, the Fundación SGAE, the Asociación de Representantes Técnicos del Espectáculo-A.R.T.E., the Spanish Music Producers-PROMUSICAE and the Unión Fonográfica Independiente-UFI, will not miss its annual appointment in Mexico to bring the best musical proposals to one of the main destinations for Spanish music and one of the fastest growing markets in recent years.

 

The events are coordinated by PROMUSICAE-Producers of Music from Spain in collaboration with the Economic and Trade Office of the Embassy of Spain in Mexico and the Cultural Center of Spain in Mexico. This professional meeting includes the showcase of Anni B Sweet & Los Estanques, Alberto & García, Karavana & Kora. Five industry delegates complete the group. These are representatives of the following 5 Spanish companies: Ep Management, Locked in Verses, Producciones Blau, Spanish Bombs and Vanana Records.

 

The selected professionals will have the opportunity to participate in a networking sessions between the Spanish professionals and some of the most important agents of the music sector in Mexico. The professional agenda also includes various discussion panels in which participants will highlight the reality of the music markets in Spain and Mexico, as well as the possibilities for collaboration. One example of these is “The Music Industry in Mexico and Spain: Trends and Challenges” panel,  moderated by Alicia Sánchez, Commercial Counselor of the Economic and Commercial Office of the Embassy of Spain in Mexico, with the participation of Guillermo González, Director of AMPROFOM and Carlos García Doval, Director of Operations of PROMUSICAE.

 

This will be followed by the round table “Cruce de Ritmos: Musical Collaborations between Spain & Mexico” which will be moderated by Sergio Arbeláez, director of the Feria Internacional de la Música de Guadalajara FIM GDL, and in which there is already confirmation of the participation of Ana Villacorta, Senior VP of Marketing and Promotions at Sony Music Mexico and Kin Martínez, Director of Esmerarte Creative Industries.

 

This activity is the prelude to the annual collaboration that Sounds from Spain maintains with the FIM GDL, as a preview of the participation of the Spanish platform in the 2024 edition to be held in Guadalajara between February 28 and March 2. The public call for Spanish companies and artists interested in participating in the 2024 edition of FIM GDL through Sounds from Spain is expected to be published this week.
