The platform for the internationalization of Spanish music will hold its official showcase on Thursday, September 17, at the Resonanzraum venue in Hamburg
Sounds From Spain will once again participate in the Reeperbahn Festival in Hamburg—one of the leading international events for live music and the European music industry—with a showcase scheduled for September 17 at the Resonanzraum venue. The Spanish platform will present a selection of four acts that reflect the diversity, creativity, and international appeal of today’s Spanish music: Le Parody (Born! Music), Melani (Clipper’s Music Group), La Amenaza Constante, and Señora Biónica (both on Subterfuge Records).
Spain’s participation is part of the internationalization initiatives promoted by Sounds From Spain, the platform comprising ICEX Spain Export and Investment, the General Directorate of Performing Arts and Music (DGAEM), the SGAE Foundation, AIE, PROMUSICAE, UFi, and A.R.T.E., which promotes the presence of Spanish artists and companies in major international music markets. The Reeperbahn Festival is one of the key events of this initiative, bringing together thousands of industry professionals, media representatives, agents, and programming directors from around the world each year. This event is coordinated and organized by PROMUSICAE with the support of ICEX Spain Export and Investment, the General Directorate of Performing Arts and Music (DGAEM), and AIE (Artists, Performers, and Musicians).
This year’s Spanish lineup brings together musical acts with very distinct identities but with one thing in common: a contemporary, innovative perspective that is open to international exposure.
Le Parody: Electronic Music and Folklore Without Borders
The artist and producer Le Parody has become one of the most distinctive voices on the Spanish independent music scene thanks to a style that combines folk, experimental electronic music, and a strong spirit of exploration. Her music blends musical traditions from different parts of the world with contemporary production and a unique artistic vision that has led her to perform on numerous international stages.
Melani: A New Generation Without Labels
At just 19 years old, Melani is one of the most promising emerging artists on the Spanish music scene. After gaining widespread recognition as the winner of *La Voz Kids* and Spain’s representative at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, she has developed her own project that combines pop sensibilities, classical vocal training, and great interpretive versatility. His work symbolizes the emergence of a new generation of artists capable of moving effortlessly between different musical worlds.
The Constant Threat: Shoegaze and Emotion from Donostia
Hailing from Donostia, La Amenaza Constante ranks among the most promising bands on the new Spanish indie scene. Their sound, built on a combination of luminous melodies, expansive guitars, and immersive atmospheres, draws inspiration from shoegaze, noise pop, and indie rock. The band is currently promoting its debut album, establishing a sound that bridges San Sebastián’s musical tradition with contemporary international influences.
