This year, four bands will perform at the showcase: Muerdo, Leo Rizzi, Las Ninyas del Corro, and Íñigo Quintero.

These artistic proposals represent the wide variety of musical styles prevalent in the current Spanish music scene. Pop, rap, R&B, and roots music are some of the rhythms that the professional audience attending the conference will be able to hear at the promotional concert scheduled for Wednesday, July 9th, starting at 8 p.m. at DROM, a venue in the heart of the East Village in New York City.

Four amazing artists

Muerdo

Muerdo, from Murcia, Spain, is a singer, composer, and poet whose music blends reggae, pop, folk, funk, and hip-hop with socially conscious lyrics. Debuting in 2011 with Flores entre el acero, he gained recognition with Tocando tierra (2013), produced by Amparo Sánchez. His albums Viento sur (2015), featuring El Kanka and Pascuala Ilabaca, and La mano en el fuego (2018) mark his evolving style. His recent works, La sangre del mundo (2021) and Sinvergüenza (2024), showcase his maturity and social critique. The latest album’s title track features Cuban legend Eliades Ochoa, highlighting his ongoing musical growth. More about Muerdo here.

Leo Rizzi

Born on Ibiza and raised in Uruguay, Leo Rizzi stands out for his creativity and originality, making him an influential figure in contemporary indie pop. A 26-year-old composer and musician, he has built a dedicated fan base and a unique universe on social media with over 2.5 million followers. His debut album, PÁJARO AZUL, pays homage to Rubén Darío and symbolizes spiritual freedom. Featuring live versions of songs like ‘REVOLUCIÓN AZUL’ and new tracks such as ‘Julia’ and ‘horizonte lejano azul,’ the album captures the magic of his live performances in studio.  More info about Leo Rizzi here.

Las Ninyas del Corro

Laüra Bonsai and Felinna Vallejo, from the outskirts of Barcelona, found their voice in rhythm and poetry to share personal stories and the realities of Bon Pastor and Sant Adrià. Since 2015, they’ve been one of the most explosive duos in the genre. After their debut album Onna-Bugeisha, they launched their second full-length album, Bitches in Business, establishing their presence in both Spanish and international scenes. Currently touring with this project, their mainly rap style also blends R&B. With high-profile collaborations, electrifying festival performances, and respect within the Spanish rap scene, Las Ninyas deliver raw power, class, and style. More info about Las Ninyas del Corro here.

Iñigo Quintero

Íñigo Quintero made history by becoming the first Spanish solo artist to reach Number 1 on Spotify’s Global Top 50 in fall 2023 with his single “Si No Estás.” Following this success, he released his debut EP “Es Solo Música” in April 2024, with exclusive showcases in Madrid, Milan, Paris, London, and Berlin. What sets Iñigo apart is his unique blend of pop with piano-driven elements, which adds depth and emotional resonance to his music. Influenced by artists like Dani Fernández and James Arthur, his songs are characterized by raw emotion and authenticity, making his sound instantly recognizable. More about this artist here.
